Joseph Borg Bartolo

Joseph Borg Bartolo is the newly appointed Managing Partner at Mamo TCV Advocates.  He co-heads corporate, insurance and general commercial practice group of the firm. As counsel to leading insurance companies and insurance brokers operating both in the Maltese and European markets he has gained invaluable experience in the insurance field generally.  He acts as the Chairman of the Protection and Compensation Fund, a statutory body set up under the laws of Malta for the purposes of acting as an insurance guarantee scheme as well as an insurer of last resort in certain instances of motor car accidents.  In addition, he acts as an advisor to the Insurance Association, Malta, the Maltese insurance company trade and lobby group.  Joseph has been involved in several immovable property transactions, mainly in the commercial property sector.

With a wide array of commercial clients he is mostly well known for blending legal knowledge and advice with practical commercial experience and expedience necessary in order to get the deal done. He is also very experienced in dispute resolution and has acted in a number of instances to resolve issues without the necessity of allowing the matter to be contested in judicial fora.

Amendments to the Company Services Providers Regime

Act X of 2025 which came into force on 16 May 2025 introduced amendments to the Company Service Providers Act (Chap. 525 of the law of Malta). The amendments are intended to further refine the provision of directorship and company secretary services and therefore impact mainly the Class B Company Service Provider (CSP) Category.
