Amendments to the Company Services Providers Regime

Act X of 2025 which came into force on 16 May 2025 introduced amendments to the Company Service Providers Act (Chap. 525 of the law of Malta). The amendments are intended to further refine the provision of directorship and company secretary services and therefore impact mainly the Class B Company Service Provider (CSP) Category. The amendments introduced two new categories of Class B CSPs: restricted CSPs; and limited CSPs. Malta Business Registry issues advice on adequate electronic mail address

On the 6th July, the Malta Business Registry (MBR) issued a circular advising all companies registered in Malta to provide it with an adequate electronic mail address in terms of the legal requirement emanating from Act LX of 2021 by not later than 30th September, 2022. In addition to it being a legal requirement, providing an electronic mail address ensures the timely service of correspondence to company officers.
