An opportunity has arisen for interested candidates to join the Intellectual Property (IP) and the Telecoms, Media and Technology (TMT) practice areas of the firm as a lawyer.

Mamo TCV is regarded as one of the pre-eminent legal firms in intellectual property law. The firm acts for local and international manufacturers and distributors, licensors and licensees, franchisors and franchisees, media and telecommunications companies, broadcasters and production companies, suppliers, authors, artists and composers as well as information technology companies. The firm is known to have handled the largest number of legal proceedings (and ancillary measures) on behalf of right holders, representing some of the world’s most famous brands.

Within the TMT sector the firm has been providing clients with expert legal and regulatory advice on the full range of non-contentious and contentious national and international telecommunications, privacy, media (film & television, theatre, music, gaming etc.) and technology issues. Technologies also have data protection implications. Mamo TCV is regularly engaged by clients to offer specialist legal advice and to assist with data protection legal compliance.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be expected to:

Providing legal advisory services to the clients of the firm on aspects of civil and commercial law, mainly in the fields of intellectual property law, technology law and data protection law;
Working with team members and managing client relationships, under the supervision of the partners of the firm responsible for the IP and TMT departments.

Job Requirements

The selected candidate must:

Possess a law degree and warrant to practice as an advocate in Malta;
Have good written and verbal communication skills in English and Maltese;
Be able to work against tight deadlines; and
Ideally have at least 2 years’ experience, preferably in the above subject areas.
