COMMUNITY TRADEMARKS AND DESIGNS

Malta’s accession as a full Member State of the European Union in May 2004 entitles us, as a Maltese law-firm, to file Community Trade Mark (CTM) and Community Design (CD) applications directly with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) in Alicante, Spain. 

 

We would be very pleased to act as attorneys and/or agents in respect of any Community Trademark Mark or Community Design applications which clients of your firm might wish to file with OHIM. 

 

A copy of our Schedule of Fees for the filing of Community Trade Mark and Community Design applications and for the prosecution of such applications with OHIM will be provided to you upon request. May we point out that our fees for the filing and for the prosecution of CTMs and CDs with OHIM are extremely competitive, particularly when compared to the average rate of fees charged by other overseas trademark agents and attorneys. 

 

In order to file CTM and/or CD applications with OHIM, we would require the trademark or design applicant to draw up and complete in our favour a Power of Attorney. No notarisation or legalisation of this document is required. 

 

On this matter, it is to be noted that the English language is one of Malta’s official languages which is easily understood and spoken by everyone. This places our office in an excellent position to prepare and file your clients’ CTM or CD application/s in the English language without any difficulty. Furthermore, all correspondences between your firm and our firm will be in the English language.
